Eventually, he scored his first Pyramid hit; an avalanche of improbably complex flows that he dubbed Mixtape. During his first performance of the song he received one of the highest honors you can achieve in New York’s underground rap scene: audience members touched his sneakers after a few of the more particularly tight lines.

A common form of false suspense in serial media is the premise threat: a story possibility that, if not reversed, ends the premise of the property. For example, you know in any episode of Gilligan’s Island, or its descendant, Star Trek: Voyager, that any chance of rescue will be dashed by the end of a regular, non-finale episode.

I liked the idea that normal weapons were really crappy against power armor and demons, I didn’t like that they were completely useless. I’m much more of a fan of the “the whole town got together, 40% of us got killed, but dammit, we beat down the vampire-demon thing and locked it in the bank vault. And we don’t open the bank vault. Ever.

Rescued from the front as scrap, rebuilt buy a group sympathetic to robot equality using whatever’s available and reprogrammed to be able to make their own choice - fight for a nobel cause or live a quiet, helpful existence… Some decide to rescue more of their fallen brothers, others wander off into the forest and are never seen again. Many decide to find a town that will take them and settle down, helping out when heavy lifting, demolition or serious farming is required in a pinch!
Fascinating series of vinyl robot figures, with a wonderful background story by the maker.

Back when Doctor Sketchy’s PDX was still Doctor Sketchy’s PDX, I had the pleasure of seeing Angelique DeVil perform there once. Her mechanical doll routine - parts of which you can see in the video - was just plain awesome.
